Rainfall for 2018: Great rainfall this past Fall; tanks should be really full.
December storm and water: It was great to see that the district water systems survived the recent power outage without any disruptions; shows how the investment in good tankage and water delivery pays off. The water districts should be thanked.
There were some innovative ways to get water to people’s toilets and showers during the hydro outage, such as using a sump pump in your water storage tank to deliver water to an outside tap and then pumping this water into the house system if you have a good generator. (By the way, this water is not potable.)
Website: The MIIWSS website has been upgraded and improved. On the website there is information on all the Mayne Island water districts; contacts and fees charged.
As well, there are links to information on well maintenance and other information pertaining to water.
